There is a lot of history behind Christmas traditions that many are probably unaware of. Our tradition of the Christmas tree first began when the Germans took evergreens from the forests to use as decorative trees in their homes. Before there was electricity, it was tradition to use candles on the Christmas tree in order to light it up.
Christmas lights were introduced in the late 1800s to decorate the Christmas trees as more and more people had electricity in their homes. These new lights revolutionized the way people decorate for Christmas. Christmas lights aren’t the only thing that has come a long way. Artificial Christmas garlands have become more popular with many families in America year after year. Many homes are displaying LED pre lit Christmas trees which are far more efficient than their predecessors and display the latest technology in holiday decorating today.
Some top their Christmas trees with an angel and some with a star. Either choice will surely compliment all the other decorations. In most cases the true meaning of Christmas is shown in these ornaments. Angels resemble the angel who visited the shepherds and guided them to the stable in Bethlehem to see the new baby Jesus.
Lighting for the holidays comes in many different varieties, colors and styles. You have a plethora of lighting styles to choose from which include anything from the traditional string and rope lights to the texture creating icicle lighting. Most of the lights have compact, computerized units that can control the visual displays, allowing the user to modify a variety of light sequences that the lights can run through. Christmas lights have changed a lot since the 1800s and continue to promote the true meaning of Christmas year after year.
